PRODIGY - THE FAT OF THE LAND

You've probably heard *the* Prodigy's music in movies more than anywhere else

I rank Prodigy in the top five of my favourite electronica bands (right infront of Daft Punk and Crystal Method, and tied with Chemical Brothers). The CD The Fat of the Land has enough fast paced material to keep any dance floor moving, and it's even decent for individual listening. There's enough diversity on this album to keep you interested, and very few of the songs require you to skip past 'em...

Anyway, Prodigy (is it 'The Prodigy'? I always forget), as a whole, possess quite a bit of personality. If you've seen a Prodigy video, you've probably noticed the punk with the devil-horn style hair, the dude with the strange contacts, possibly the lanky giant depending on the video, and maybe the ordinary looking, hey-that-looks-like-my-neighbour guy. Add 'em all together, add a pinch of humour, a cup of talent, bake for a few years, and you have the Prodigy.

This album, in all it's entirety, is quite good. Sure, there are a few stinker tracks (I personally don't pay much attention to Serial Thrilla whenever I give the CD a spin), but the majority is worth the buy. Or you could just buy the Charlie's Angels, Matrix, or countless other movie soundtracks, and get the one or two songs you really dig.

Anyway, if it was up to me, I'd get the whole album, even though it's pretty damn expensive...god knows why. I was looking through the electronic section of HMV awhile ago, and nearly all of the CD's I was interested in where $18+.
