RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE - RENEGADES
To tell you the truth, I never really like Rage Against the Machine until I heard Testify, from their album The Battle of Los Angeles, on Much Music. Until then, I simply perceived them to be nothing more than rastafarian wannabe music makers with a bad attitude towards society. But I was wrong...I didn't realize that Renegades was a CD of cover songs until I popped it into my CD player. I was flipping through the tracks thinking, "Hey - this sounds familiar. Wait a minute, this is Cypress Hill!". Yeah, it was shocking, but nonetheless, I took the album at face value...it's probably the last Rage CD that will be released, and their covers of these songs are actually not half bad.
Listen, if you're a Rage fan, (which I have sort of become over time) you're pre-sold, but if you aren't, this CD ain't fer you... If you're looking for something other than cover songs, I suggest you pick up Rage Against the Machine's previous effort, The Battle of Los Angeles. ARTIST: Rage Against the Machine
