PROZZAK - HOT SHOW

I don't know what I was thinking when I bought this CD.

It was during my foolish youth (grade 7) when I first heard Sucks to Be You. I think everybody in my age group liked that song, but not many of them actually went out and bought the damn CD...(obviously enough people did, because those Prozzak bastards released a second CD).

I, unfortunatly, did. And I liked it (It's true. I'm so ashamed). But as my musical preferences shifted gears, my fondness for Prozzak soon turned into bitter hate. I mean, after listening to this CD fully just a few minutes before writing this review of the CD, all the songs are basically the same premise.

Yes, in fact, EVERY Prozzak song is about the same thing, practically. There are exceptions to the rule, but mostly it's about Simon's bad luck with love (or love making), and him whining about it.

If you've heard even one song by Prozzak, you'd swear they were British, due to their somewhat overplayed accents. Guess what? They're Canadian. Those accents are FALSE! It's all a ruse! And what's with the cartoon characters? I guess the band needs something to get interest. After all, they couldn't rely on their music alone to make them money.

Some of the songs are listenable, but it's a guilty pleasure, and I find myself rarely even considering the consideration of playing Hot Show on my little CD player for fear of staining my speakers with it's overall badness. Stay away, unless you for some inexplicable reason like this kind of music (I know you're out there). ARTIST: Prozzak
